-A bioindicator is any species or group of species whose function, population, or status can reveal the qualitative status of the environment.
-It is useful and exceptional because it is divided in two simetric parts, it is protected by a cover of pectin with spiny expansions and wrapped, at the same time, by a mucilage secretion that helps it stay in flotation. It is an excellent bioindicator and it is very sensible to alterations.
