WATER TREATMENTS

• Water sanitation: it reduces the microbial population to safe levels for health. 
• Water treatments: it is any process that improves the quality of water to make it more acceptable for a specific end-use. Tipes:

-Primary: it involves sedimentation of solid waste within the water. This is done after filtering out larger contaminants within the water.

-Secondary: it makes use of oxidation to further purify wastewater. This can be done in one of three ways. Tipes:

. Biofiltration.
. Aeration.
. Oxidation ponds.

-Tertiary: it is mostly comprised of removing phosphates and nitrates from the water supply. Substances like activates carbon and sand are among the most commonly used materials that assist in this process.

• Potable water: also known as drinking water, it is water that is safe to drink or to use for food preparation.
